Quick answer
ChatGPT Plus is a paid subscription service from OpenAI costing $20 USD per month. It offers access to OpenAI's most advanced AI models, including GPT-4o and GPT-4, alongside capabilities like web browsing, image generation, custom AI assistants, and data analysis. This premium tier provides faster response times and priority access, particularly during peak usage periods.
Beyond the Free Tier: Core Upgrades
ChatGPT Plus gives subscribers access to OpenAI's latest and most capable models. The free version typically uses an older model or a more limited variant. As of May 2024, Plus users primarily access GPT-4o, which handles text, audio, and image inputs and outputs. GPT-4 is also available as an option. These models are generally more accurate, nuanced, and capable of longer, more complex conversations than the models offered in the free tier.
